SHILLONG, September 3, 2018

A shooting incident took place at Lapalang Bridge near the SBI ATM in the capital city on Sunday night.

The incident took place at around 10-10.30 pm last night. The victim was left with bullet injuries and has been admitted to NEIGHRIMS hospital.

The injured has been identified as Pynskhembor Kharmawlong, 24, a resident of Nongrah Lummarboh.

An empty cartridge of 9mm pistol was recovered from the area. According to the victim, the assailants came in a car and fled after shooting at him.

Meanwhile, police sources informed that there were ‘possibly’ two people who committed the crime. It was reported that the trio including the victim were having a heated argument before the duo shot Kharmawlong and left the crime scene.


When asked whether this was a case of personal enmity or robbery, police said investigation was on to ascertain the reason behind the shooting.
