Shillong, Dec 01:

A body of an unidentified male was found in a drain below the bridge located near RBI office, Cleve Colony in Shillong on Friday.

Police said that the deceased might have fell over from the bridge which led to his death. It may be mentioned that the body of the deceased was recovered by the rescue team of the Meghalaya Fire and Emergency Services on Friday last.

While ruling out the murder angle, police on Sunday said that there is no injury mark on the body to raise suspicion on the death of the deceased.

According to the police, the deceased, aged about 40 to 45 years, seems to be a non-tribal. The police further informed that the post mortem has already been done.

Meanwhile, police said that so far no one has come forward to claim the body adding that the body is still lying at the morgue of the Shillong Civil Hospital.

Further, police also informed that they will be issuing notice on the description of the deceased with the hope that the relatives will come forward to claim the body.
