Following clashes between two groups in Ichamati under Shella PS which led to the death of a member of the KSU yesterday, the law and order situation in Shillong city and its adjoining areas including Sohra is being strictly monitored.

The Meghalaya police yesterday seized a total number of 83 trucks carrying coal illegally along the road between Mairang and Mallangkona in West Khasi HIlls and arrested two of the drivers of these trucks.
