Meghalaya: Discover East Jaintia Festival 2018 ready to take off!

In an attempt to boost tourism in the district while promoting unexplored places in and around the area, the Rymbai Elaka Tourism and Environment Society (RETES) East Jaintia Hills District in collaboration with District Administration, East Jaintia Hills Khliehriat will organize a two day event called “Discover East Jaintia Festival 2018″ on the 23rd and 24th March 2018 as mentioned in the program below.

The programme is being organized with the objectives of promoting and developing tourism activities in the district in particular and the state in general.

Seeing the potentials and resources of the District, the Society aims to materialize its vision and mission of transforming East Jaintia Hills District with its beautiful landscapes, flora and fauna, etc. into a tourist destination which will directly and indirectly create job opportunities for the youth of the area.

PROGRAMME SCHEDULE

DAY 1 (23 MARCH 2018)

LOCATION – MUALLIAN VILLAGE, EAST JAINTIA HILLS,
“SINGLEI Eco Challenge Tour”

• Flag off on the 22nd March- 2:00 PM at Khliehriat – Proceed to Muallian Village
• Explore the most Challenging Part of East Jaintia Hills
• Travel by 4X4 wheels Vehicle
• Trek for 2 hrs. along the terrains
• Born fire
• Biate Cultural Show
• Free Biate indigenous Cuisines
• Camping at Muallian Village
• Early morning on the 23rd March 2018 – Trek to Saisi Cave and Saisi River

DAY 2 (24 MARCH 2018)

LOCATION – LESHKA VIEW, SUCHEN VILLAGE

A special screening of Assamese blockbuster ‘Tumi Aahibaane’ will be held in Bangalore for Assamese movie lovers on March 11, 2018 where film-buffs will get a chance to be up-close and personal with Assamese heartthrob Barsha Rani Bishaya, legendary singer and music director Tarali Sarma, director Prerana Barbarooah & film producer Trinayan Bora. The event will also witness a cultural evening with performances by singers and dancers from Assam and North East India.
The itinerary is as under:

🔹 ‘Meet-and-greet’ session with Barsha Rani Bishaya – বৰ্ষাৰাণী বিষয়া, Tarali Sarma, Prerana Barbarooah (director)

About the movie:-

Featuring Barsha Rani Bishaya, Ravi Sarma, Gunjan Bhardwaj, Nipon Goswami and Moonmi Phukan, Tumi Aahibaane was originally released on September 22, 2017 in the cinema halls in Assam and few other parts of India. The film is directed by Prerana Barbarooah and jointly produced by ASFFDC & Bibi Devi Barbarooah under the banner of Prerana Creations. The film has a total of eight songs which are composed by Tarali Sarma and sung by Zubeen Garg, Tarali Sarma, Akhu, Nilakshi Neog, Sushmita Changmai and Mrinal Baishnab.
