Govt institutes inquiry into “denial of treatment” to HIV patients

The Meghalaya Health and Family Welfare Minister, Alexander Laloo Hek has directed the Shillong Civil Hospital to institute an inquiry into the allegations of denial of treatment to HIV positive patients.

Ban on tobacco products near educational institutions comes into force in WGH

In a welcoming move, the district administration of West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya has banned all tobacco related items from being sold near any educational institutions.

This was informed by the deputy commissioner of WGH, Ram Singh, though a communiqué.
