Two govt hospitals alleged of denying treatment to HIV patients

SHILLONG | July 08, 2019:

Does a doctor have the right to refuse treatment to HIV positive patients? This question has come to light after it was alleged that the Shillong Civil Hospital and a premier health institution in the Northeast, NEIGRIHMS have been rejecting treatment for HIV-positive people.

Medical alert sounded after 2 test positive for Japanese Encephalitis in Garo Hills

The West Garo Hills district administration has sounded a medical alert after two persons tested positive for Japanese Encephalitis (JE).

An order to seize pigs and cattle in Tura has been issued by the district administration.

Ban on tobacco products near educational institutions comes into force in WGH

TURA | June 30, 2019:

In a welcoming move, the district administration of West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya has banned all tobacco related items from being sold near any educational institutions.

This was informed by the deputy commissioner of WGH, Ram Singh, though a communiqué.

Honey bees population is declining in state; Thanks to indiscriminate use of pesticides!
