Today is the last day for candidates to file their nominations for the ensuing Assembly polls in the state and Meghalaya Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma on Wednesday filed his second nomination paper to contest the election from Songsak constituency.

Sangma had filed his first nomination for Ampati on Tuesday. It may be mentioned that the CM is contesting from Ampati and Songsak constituencies in Garo Hills.

Yet another kidnapping case has been reported in Garo Hills region of Meghalaya where two construction workers from Assam were allegedly abducted from near a construction site in Jengjal in West Garo Hills on June 16.

The duo was allegedly kidnapped by persons who came to their camp in a motor cycle.
