Meghalaya: 2 injured in hit and run case in Laitkor, one injured in Puriang truck accident

Road accidents claim numerous lives every single day and despite repeated advisories by the authorities, the cases pertaining to death and injury caused by accidents do not seem to decline.

In a hit and run case, two victims namely 29-yr-old Synshardame Phawa and 33-yr-old Winstone Churchill Nongsteng met with an accident as they were riding on a bike (ML05 B 1646) when a jeep came from behind and hit them and drove away at Laitkor on the way to Woodland Institute around 8:23 pm on Thursday. Both the victims sustained fractures. After proper first aid, they were shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong by 108 Smit Ambulance.

Meghalaya: Separate road accidents kill one, leave two in critical condition

In another incident, three trucks, of which the registration numbers of two trucks were recorded as ML04C7300, AS24C3732 were involved in a collision and one of the truck overturned at Puriang main road around 5:41 am on Firday morning. 24-yr-old Lokos Pohkarlu was the only victim who suffered injuries on his abdomen and chest area. After proper first aid and wound care, the victim was shifted to Mawryngkneng PHC by 108 Mawryngkneng Ambulance.

It may be mentioned that just a day ago, it was reported that 17-yr-old Iainehbok Basaiawmoit met with a two-wheeler accident at Rhino Point way to Oxford at 9:48 pm on Wednesday when he lost control due to over speeding as per passersby account. The victim sustained head injury was unconscious and in a critical condition. After first aid and wound care, he was rushed  to Civil Hospital by 108 Shillong Civil Ambulance where he was declared dead by the doctor on duty.

MBOSE Result 2019: HSSLC & SSLC results likely to be declared next week

SHILLONG/ TURA | May 21, 2019:

The result for MBOSE Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) and Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination is likely to be declare next week.

According to sources, the MBOSE result for HSSLC and SSLC will be declared on the same day.

It may be mentioned that there seems to be mistake in the previous announcement. Officials have stated that the recent news of HSSLC results being declared today was supposedly a rumour. The results will likely be declared next week together with the SSLC results as was done every year.

Last year, HSSLC results were declared on May 25.
