Shillong, December 1, 2017: Pressurized and criticized from several quarters over the delay in convening the Winter Assembly session, Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma on Thursday explained the reason behind the delay stating that he wanted to get a clear picture of the current mindset of his party legislators.
“The main reason for the delay in holding the Winter Assembly Session is because I wanted to see who are the MLA’s who wanted to resign,” Sangma said adding that he does not want to strain his brain over the future of his Government.

Shillong, November 25, 2017: Mukul Sangma, the Chief Minister of Meghalaya announced that the Excise Registration Taxation Stamps Department (ERTS) has notified the new lottery rules and that there would soon be a bidding process to appoint a distributor to market the state government’s lotteries in states where such lottery sales are permitted. Sangma added that the government would prefer paper lotteries over online lotteries and the same would apply to central law, Lotteries (Regulation) Act, 1998 and rules framed there under.
