Meghalaya: A’chik Border Association submits memo to CM Conrad Sangma

The A’chik Border Association (ABA) on Tuesday met Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and had submitted its wish-list for the upliftment of the people residing in the border areas of Assam near Dainadubi.

Meghalaya coke industries ‘circumvent’ SC orders

Despite Supreme Court ban on transportation of coal, the coal traders in West Khasi Hills have now begin to supply coal in the form of coke. The SC in its order had ban transportation of coal, other than those already extracted from various sites under the guidance of the NGT committee.

With continuous plying of overloaded boulder truck illegally through districts of SWGH, the infuriated residents on Friday held a protest which was joined by Boldamgre MDC, Stevie Marak, who himself has been vehemently protesting the movement of such trucks.
