The Ranikor river, which was once known for its crystal clear water and home to various species of fish and other aquatic life, is now a dying river and this is evident from the mass death of aquatic species.

Hailstones accompanied by heavy rains have become a usual occurrence in Meghalaya and although it might become a cause of inconvenience to many, nature lovers still take it as a delight.

But, it’s not all beauty for Meghalaya because today’s hailstone also caused a lot of destruction in West Khasi Hills region of Meghalaya.

Meghalaya: Marking the ‘Holy Week’ with the innocence of purity in Garo Hills!

Children take part in the festivities of ‘Palm Sunday’ at Tura in West Garo Hills as part of the ritual of celebration of the triumphant return of Jesus Christ to Jerusalem. Palm Sunday is a Christian movable feast that falls on the Sunday before Easter. The feast commemorates Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, and initiates Holy Week, the last week of Lent.
