The Central Bureau of Investigation will grill Kolkata Police Commissioner, Rajeev Kumar at its branch office in Shillong till 6.30 pm today and the second round of interrogation will resume again tomorrow at around 10 am, officials informed.
Kumar is being quizzed by the CBI in connection with the chit fund case. Three SP level officers and one DSP, Tathagata Ghosh are in charge of interrogating the Kolkata Police Chief.
“They (CBI) have started interrogating Kumar in their (CBI) Shillong branch office since 11 a.m. on the matter,” an official told IANS earlier.
It was informed that the Kolkata Police Chief was accompanied by three West Bengal cadre IPS officers and his younger brother.
Kumar arrived in Shillong on Friday evening from Kolkata via Guwahati after the Supreme Court, while hearing the matter on Tuesday, directed him to join the CBI probe at a neutral place.
