NEW DELHI | April 26, 2019:

Alliance partners of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) from the Northeast on Friday accompanied Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he went on to file his nomination papers for the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat today.

The Northeast political leaders included — Meghalaya Chief minister and NPP chief, Conrad K Sangma, Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, Assam Finance Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma and Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) president, Atul Bora among others.

Besides Northeast partners, Modi was accompanied by a galaxy of top BJP and NDA leaders in what was a massive show of strength for the country’s ruling alliance.

Senior NDA leaders including BJP president Amit Shah,Uttar Pradesh chief minister, Yogi Adityanath and senior union ministers Rajnath Singh and Sushma Swaraj were also present.
