Amid ongoing reports of opposition Congress MLAs expressing their willingness to join the BJP, National BJP Spokesperson, Nalin Kohli on Saturday said that the doors are always open if they want to work for development and serve the people.

Talking to newsmen after the state BJP quaterly executive meeting held at BJP office in Shillong, Kohli said that as far as the BJP is concerned, their doors are always open to anyone who wants to join with a “positive agenda and work for development as the Narendra Modi government is doing at the centre.”

Stating that congress party members across the country are dejected by the state of affairs of their leaders and many of them want to join the mainstream of development, Kohli said that main states have already elected BJP government and Meghalaya is a state where they need to increase their presence.

Informing that organisational structure of the BJP has to be organised every few years and that it is an exercise with the National president and all the state unit and that will happen sometimes later this year, Kohli said “With the next few months the entire re-organisation will take place.”

Meanwhile, BJP General Secretary Bashai Khongwir informed that the meeting discussed a host of issues which also included reorganising the structure of the state unit. He however said that the central leadership has shortlisted six to seven names for the post of the party president which will be made known in months to come.
