KHLIEHRIAT:

The drug market in Meghalaya is running dry and this is evident from the continuous attempts of drug smugglers to fool their customers by selling the supposed contraband items except that, these are not drugs.

Yet again, the Meghalaya Police recently intercepted one vehicle near Malidor in East Jaintia Hills and recovered approximately 750 grams of, wait for it, ‘Powdered Puffed Rice’ to be sold off in the market as heroin.

The puffed rice, packed in 25 soap boxes were recovered from the possession of two persons travelling in a car.

ALSO WATCH:

The fake drug substances were recovered on September 24. The appearance and packaging was exactly similar to one used for Heroin.

It was not long ago when the East Khasi Hills police recovered packets of what looked like heroin but turned out to ‘Rasna’, a fruit powder.

And just like last time, the State Police took to twitter to post their witty tweet on the recovery.

HERE IS WHAT THEY WROTE:

After Rasna incident, the Dark Night Rices!

ANTF East Jaintia Hills intercepted a vehicle & recovered approx. 750 grams of, wait-for-it, “Powdered Puffed Rice”, packed in 25 soap boxes, to be sold in the market as Heroin.

Kudos to ANTF! #RiceAndShine #DrugsFreeMeghalaya
