SHILLONG | July 30, 2019:

Following reports that the Government employees will not be getting their salaries due to the poor financial position, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said that the financial position in the State is “manageable”.

“We need to understand that the budget is yet to be passed in the Parliament. This problem is not restricted only to Meghalaya since all the States in the country are facing the problem of funds’ constraints,” Tynsong said.

According to him, the funds entitlement of the States will not be made available until the budget is passed.

“We are aware that the budget presentation in the Parliament has already been made. But the passing of the budget will take place few days from now,” he said adding that on the day the budget is passed; the entitlement of every State will be released subsequently.
