SHILLONG | May 08, 2019:
The pass percentage of students in the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) exams — Science and Commerce Streams conducted by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) saw a slight dip with 71.07 percent (Science) and 79.24 percent (Commerce) recorded this year compared to 74.58 percent and 79.84 percent respectively in 2018.
The HSSLC (Science, Commerce and Vocational) results was declared by MBOSE today morning.
In the Science stream, St Anthony’s HS School topped the exams and dominated the Top 10 merit list with as many as 8 position holders with Debjanee Bhatarcharjee bagging the first position.
The other schools which made to the Top 10 list include — North Liberty HS School in Jowai, Seven Set Annexe HS School in Shillong, Don Bosco HS School in Tura, KJP Synod Mihngi HS School in Jowai and St Edmund’s HS School in Shillong.
Ri Bhoi district secured the highest percentage of pass with 91.67 percent followed by East Khasi Hills with 80.68 percent and South West Garo Hills with 76.47 percent.
In the Commerce stream, the pass percentage (74.58 percent) went down slightly compared to last year’s 79.84 percent. A less-known college in Shillong, BBS College topped the list with Bhanudaya Upadhaya securing the first position. St Anthony’s HS School, Shillong also dominated the Top 10 merit list with a total of 6 position holders.
The other schools which made to the Top 10 list include — St Edmund’s HS School, Shillong College Higher Secondary Education, Seven Set Annexe Higher Secondary School and St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School in Shillong.
East Jaintia Hills district secured the highest percentage of pass with 95.00 percent followed by East Garo Hills with 94.74 percent and Ri Bhoi with 87.65 percent.
