A student studying in North Eastern Hills University (NEHU), who had gone missing since the evening of April 27 has returned today to Tura along with her parents and fiancée after a missing case was filed in this regard. The case was filed at Chandmari Beat House in Tura.
According to the FIR filed by the proctor of NEHU, Gino Sangma, the girl in question was returning to the Working Women’s Hostel along with a friend when she was allegedly attacked by a man. Following the incident, the woman did not return to the hostel the entire night.
The missing girl has been identified as Chinu R Sangma and hailed from North Garo Gills.
Following the police complaint, a search was conducted by the police and information provided to all police stations. She was located this morning.
“She had fled to Jadi in South Garo Hills to her relatives and only returned this morning along with her fiance and her parents. She however did not file any complaint against the assaulter,” stated district police chief, Dr MGR Kumar.
