Shillong: Instances of violence in Motphran that created a ripple effect of stray instances in various parts of Shillong have led to a huge inconvenience to common people in pursuing their day-to-day activities and a group fo SSA teachers appearing for their D.El.Ed examinations today and tomorrow are now insecure about the hostile environment in and around the city.
In view of the ongoing scenario, the SSA and others categories of teachers from Jaiaw, Mawkhar, Umsohsun, Riatsamthiah, Wahingdoh, Mission, Mawprem, Lumdiengjri, Lamavilla, Qualapatty, Wahthapbru, Sunny Hill, Cantonment etc who are going to appear the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) Exams conducted by National Institute of Open Schooling throughout the Country today (01.06.18) and tomorrow (02.06.18) from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm apprised the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District P. S. Dkhar about their problems due to the curfew imposed.
Following this, the DC has assured to do the needful for safety of the teachers and to inform the Magistrate to allow the teachers to go for appearing the Examinations. the same was informed by general secretary, Meghalaya SSA School Association, East Khasi Hills District Unit, Brightstarwell Kharsohnoh .
