Even as curfew has been relaxed in Shillong city, stray incidents continues to instill fear among citizens.

Yet in an incident that took place in the city, a truck bearing registration no. MZ 8085 was burnt down by some unknown miscreants on Thursday.

According to reports, the truck belonged to one Ashok Chand from Bholaganj, which was parked at a PS. However, no casuality was reported.

In another stray incident, it was reported that some unknown miscreants has assaulted two construction labourers at Lawsohtun Block-V at around 10-11AM under Laban PS.

Reportedly, the two were taken for a medical examination later, but no injuries were found.

Meanwhile, the East Khasi Hills district administration, keeping in view to the prevailing law and order situation has relaxed the curfew in few pockets of Shillong city.

Curfew will be relaxed in Police bazaar areas bounded by Quinton road to Umsohsun Bridge and from Khyndai Lad to G.S Road Butcher Road junction from 8:00AM to 4:00PM of March 6, 2020.

Curfew has been relaxed in Bara Bazaar areas, Paltan Bazaar, Stand Jeep Motphran and the whole cantonment areas from 5:00AM to 1:00PM of March 6, 2020.

Curfew will be relaxed in Sohra areas from 8:00PM to 6:00 PM on March 6, 2020.

Curfew will be relaxed in Shella areas from 10:00AM to 2:00PM on March 6, 2020.

Ever since, the region has been curfew and mobile internet banned in several districts of Khasi Hills. However, the temporary suspension of mobile internet was lifted on Thursday morning.
