Two youths, accused of sexually abusing a minor girl from the plain belt of West Garo Hills are currently absconding after the incident was reported to authorities.
According to district police officials, a case of rape was registered in the police station after the minor, accompanied by her parents and relatives provided a written complaint on the incident. A lookout notice has been issued against the two perpetrators after it was revealed that the two accused fled.
The FIR was lodged on May 8. The incident took place on May 7 at about 10 pm when the girl was returning home. She was waylaid by the duo who took her to a nearby jungle where they took turns in sexually assaulting the minor victim.
“A case has been lodged under POCSO and we are currently looking for the two accused,” said superintendent of police, WGH, Dr MGR Kumar.
