Wanboklang Diengdoh (Mairang Lummaralong, West Khasi Hills District) representing Meghalaya State Kickboxing Association bagged the Bronze Medal in Low Kick (Ring Sports) Junior Boys Below -51 kg. He won in the Quarter Final match to a Kickboxer from Delhi but missed it to reach the final after losing in semi final to Gold Medalist from Dadra & Nagar Haveli
It is indeed a good news for Meghalaya Kickboxers that Ibadarishisha Mukhim from Lumparing studying in Laban Presbyterian HS School and Nathaniel Kurkalang from Mylliem studying in St. Gabriel HS School will represent India at the WAKO Junior World Kickboxing 2018 to be held in September at Venice Italy.
The Meghalaya State Kickboxing Association also expressed their their gratitude to Wanboklang Diengdoh and International Kickboxers Hameshaniah Suiam and Edward Mawthoh Edward Showtime Pettis for escorting him and taking part in this Championship as the National Referee in Kickboxing.
It may be noted that the prevailing situation in Shillong and Half Yearly Examinations of students have badly affected the number of participants from Meghalaya in Himachal Pradesh.
