In a tragic incident, a 6-yr old boy identified as Tedious D. Sangma lost his life after he drowned in a pond in Ganol Eco Park, Goiragre in Tura, West Garo Hills on Saturday afternoon.

SSA teachers’ pending salary to be cleared with release of central funds

In a major relief for the SSA teachers of the state, the central government has released an amount of Rs 135 crore for pending recurring expenditure for the SSA programme including payment of five months pending salary from November 2017 to March 2018.

Four Meghalaya cops land in trouble for shooting dogs in Assam

GUWAHATI, March 31, 2018:

An officer and three personnel of the Meghalaya SF-10 were arrested by the Assam police on Friday afternoon for firing at dogs in public with a purpose to eat them in Morogdola area of Sonapur.


Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma takes stock of situation in the wake of severe rain and hailstorm

Shillong | March 30, 2018

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma today took stock of the situation in the wake of severe rain and hailstorm in different parts of the State.

He personally spoke to DCs of several districts to get first hand information of the situation and have asked the Disaster Management and Revenue Department to assess the situation.

“All possible measures will be taken to provide relief to the affected families”, said the Chief Minister.

He has directed the Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary Revenue and Disaster Management to immediately submit a report in this regard
