SHILLONG | July 28, 2019:
Political leaders cutting across party lines on Sunday extended grief and sorrow over the demise of Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Speaker, Dr Donkupar Roy, who passed away today in New Delhi due to multiple organ failure.
He was flown in an air ambulance and admitted last week in Medanta at Gurgaon. He was suffering from Acute diabetic which was the root cause for multiple organ failure. His mortal remains will be brought to his hometown tomorrow morning by indigo flight.
Condolences poured in from across the country
On hearing the news, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his condolences to Dr Roy’s family and supporters and said Dr served the state with great diligence and helped transform many lives.
