In view of the presence of International border under West Garo Hills District and is prone to trans-border crimes such as smuggling of cattle head, motorcycle and contraband goods such as Phensidyl, Yaba tablets, Ganja, liquor, etc and some person or persons in group or groups are linked with extremist  organisations or underground elements, armed or unarmed with ulterior motive are likely to infiltrate into the district from adjoining district of Bangladesh, the District Magistrate, West Garo Hills has issued an order under Section 144 Cr P C prohibiting all movement of persons individually or in group or groups on foot, in vehicles/ carriage or in any other form or manner between 6:00 PM to 5:00 AM each night in the entire area lying within a distance of 500 metres from the International border with Bangladesh in the West Garo Hills District.

This order will not apply to the personnel of the District Police, Border Security Force, Para Military Personnel, Personnel of Forest Department and Village Defence Parties engaged or deployed with patrol duties along the International Border and Government Officials having duly authorized to perform duties in the said area.

This order will come into force with immediate effect and will remain in force until further orders.
