An adventure to conquer the difficult terrains, the bumpy stretch of coal-tar-less roads of Manipur in a bike (cycle) was a journey worth-taken for these young Motorsports’ enthusiasts from the Northeast region.
The paths might be difficult but it didn’t stop this enthusiastic, energetic young downhill bike rider from Shillong — Apshai Niangti from achieving his target.
Displaying his skill during the 2nd Edition of the Chiko Adventures MTB Down Hill Race – grand finale held in Manipur on April 27, Niangti managed to ‘stomp the yard’ and emerged a winner.
The event, which was organised as part of the Shirui Lily State Festival 2018 in Manipur, witnessed the participation of 15 experienced Down hill riders from different parts of the country.
Niangti bagged the 1st prize with a Race time of 1:18.8 in minutes while Rinku Thakur from Himachal Pradesh came 2nd with a Race Time of 1:19 and Ismanul Howk from Assam, Guwahati came 3rd with a Race Time of 1:23.0.
The winners were awarded with trophies and cash prizes of Rs.40000, Rs. 20000 and Rs.10000 respectively.
