SHILLONG | Nov 10:
The main members of the WhatsApp group called “United for Equality” have come under the radar of the Meghalaya Police for posting communal statements, the screenshots of which have gone viral on social media.
“We are putting our best efforts in the investigation of this case,” East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Claudia A. Lyngwa said here today.
Informing that not every individual, who are part of the Whatsapp group are in radar of the police, Lyngwa said that they are on a look out only of those people whom they felt their statements posted in the group are communal in nature.
It is learnt that there are six people who are in the radar of the police. The SP, however, informed that they had arrested the admin of “United for Equality” group and another group.
It was informed that the person, who was recently caught by the KSU from Mawprem, did not post any communal statements in the group and he was only added in the group.
