Shillong, Sept 13, 2018: 

Almost a year after he was transferred from Shillong to Jowai, West Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police, Vivek Syiem is all set to come back to the city following the government’s notification to bring him back and post him as the Principal of Police Training School (PTS).

The notification which was issued yesterday stated that Vivek Syiem is transferred and posted as Principal of PTS with effect from the date of taking over charge.

Vivek Syiem was serving in East Khasi Hills for almost a decade when his transfer order came in October last year after then UDP legislator, Paul Lyngdoh raked up this issue in the Assembly on March 2017.

Meanwhile, incumbent Principal of PTS, Lakador Syiem has been transferred and given Vivek Syiem’s post as SP of WJH.

Furthermore, it was informed that Lakador Syiem will continue to function as member secretary of Central Recruitment Board till completion of recruitment process of unarmed branch sub inspector (UBSI) as well as to continue to deal with matters in respect to court cases and RTIs related to the whole recruitment process.
